Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies

BIS

Introduction

The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) is an individualized program of study designed to meet a student’s particular and unique needs. The minimum requirements for this degree include the general education core units and 42 upper-division credit hours. At least 24 of the upper-division hours must be guided between two or three concentration areas.

Admission

There are multiple admission processes that need to be followed at WNMU. Please note that all admission processes have to be complete for full entrance into the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies.

  1. Apply to WNMU
    a. Fill out the online application.
    b. Pay the application fee.
    c. Send transcripts and test scores to WNMU.
  2. When it comes time to declare your major, please be in touch with our office and we will guide you through the process of declaring as a BIS student.

Concentrations

For the BIS degree, students pick 2-4 areas to focus on.  These areas are known as the student’s concentrations.  Contact the Interdisciplinary Studies department at Interdisciplinary@wnmu.edu for further information on concentration options.
